This cornered chain pairs the eagle head hook with a medicine wheel — two of the most symbolically loaded elements in Goro Takahashi's vocabulary. The wheel, known also as the Sacred Hoop, represents the four cardinal directions and the cycles of life, health, and renewal in Plains tradition. Goro studied these symbols firsthand during his years living with the Oglala Lakota.
