This bangle translates Horizon Blue's twist feather motif into a wrist-worn form, wrapping the spiralling feather carving around an open silver band. The feather's twist follows the curve of the bangle, so the carved vanes rotate as they travel around the wrist.

Hand-carved in sterling silver at the Jiyugaoka studio, the piece demonstrates the adaptability of Takayuki Hiratsuka's feather vocabulary. What works as a vertical pendant is here reimagined as a horizontal band, with the three-dimensional carving technique maintaining its depth and presence at the smaller scale of wrist jewellery.

The open-form construction allows for slight size adjustment. Wear alone to let the continuous feather carving read as a single, unbroken line around the wrist.

Pool water is not recommended. Swimming pools are usually treated with chlorine, and chlorine reacts with sterling silver. So depending on how much chlorine is in the pool, you’ll probably have to clean your silver with a silver polishing cloth if you’re swimming frequently.
