This pendant combines two of BWL's defining motifs — the whale tail and the skull — into a single composition. A skull sits at the junction where the tail meets its bail, merging the brand's coastal Malibu roots with the memento mori imagery that Bill Wall has explored since his earliest silver carvings in 1985.

Hand-carved from sterling silver, the pendant carries the full anatomical detail of both elements: the fluke's surface ridges and trailing edge, the skull's eye sockets and articulated jaw. Each piece is individually cast and numbered.

Wear it on a heavy chain where both the tail's horizontal spread and the skull's vertical detail are visible, creating a layered focal point at the chest.

Shower water is generally fine - there aren’t any super harsh chemicals in our tap water that would react significantly with your sterling silver jewelry. The soap and water can even help wash away any residue from your skin and dirt in the air that can also cause your silver to look dull.

Pool water is not recommended. Swimming pools are usually treated with chlorine, and chlorine reacts with sterling silver. So depending on how much chlorine is in the pool, you’ll probably have to clean your silver with a silver polishing cloth if you’re swimming frequently.
